We are seeking a highly motivated Biodiversity Net Gain Advisor to join our exceptional and growing Ecology team.

The Liverpool City Region has a wealth of nature sites in our countryside and around our coasts and estuaries including the Dee, Mersey, Ribble and Alt estuaries and Wirral and Sefton coasts. We are striving to ensure that the very special wildlife thrives in a vibrant and progressive City Region economy.

Covering the districts of Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, St. Helens Sefton, and Wirral, this post is specifically targeted at ambitious individuals who wish to develop their ecology / planning careers and play a leading role in driving development and implementation of systems to meet mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) in our City Region.  If you are working towards a professional membership that would also be helpful.

The Biodiversity Net Gain Advisor will fulfil a leading role in Biodiversity Net Gain systems development and implementation, provide essential support to the more experienced members of the ecology team under the supervision of one of our Principal Ecologists and will also provide support to our local authorities and the Mayoral Combined Authority.  This will involve a leading role in the development of a strategic, spatial approach for biodiversity net gain delivery, co-ordinate evidence gathering, data and GIS activities, and work closely with officers in the local authorities and other stakeholders and partners amongst other things.  The role therefore offers great opportunity for professional development and a clear career development path to more senior roles within the team as professional experience grows.

We are going through an exciting period of rapid growth with opportunities for exceptional people with ecological and GIS expertise at Scales G and H.  Please indicate on your application form if you wish to be considered for these jobs also.

As an employee of Sefton Council, you will enjoy the benefits of local government within an established City Region service.
