Japanese Knotweed (Fallopia Japonica) is a non-native invasive species, causing major issues for native species and even us! Horticulture.co.uk have released an interactive map on it’s website, which show users Japanese Knotweed records in their area, with the aim of improving public awareness and increasing data collection for Fallopia Japonica.
During the first lockdown in 2020, the British Trust for Ornithology’s (BTO) Garden BirdWatch (GBW) survey saw the number of participants double, from just over 10,000 to over 20,000 garden birdwatchers, with submissions of garden wildlife sightings up by around a third on 2019.
